Study Areas
We focus primarily on oral expression, but without ignoring grammar, which we consider a fundamental part of the learning experience.
In designing our classes, we make use of the following methods for study:
Practical Classes: Getting to know our city (practical application)
Conversation: Development of listening comprehension and oral expression
Reading: Development of reading comprehension
Grammar: Spanish grammar and writing
Socio- Cultural Activities (part of the package: Getting to know Matagalpa and our culture)
Practical Classes: Our courses combine both theory and practice, and because of this we spend time both in the classroom and in guided walks around the city, in accordance with student preferences.
Conversations: Discussions are made based on issues of the students interests. Our experience has taught us that students are usually interested in engaging in the following topics: Cultural characteristics of Nicaraguans, History of Nicaragua, Politics and current events in Nicaragua, Love and romantic relationships, Myths, stereotypes, and cultural prejudices, Cultural activities: theatre, music, art, etc.
Reading Comprehension: In order to develop reading skills and increase your vocabulary, we primarily use materials that convey the richness of our culture.
Spanish Grammar and Writing: In order to enable you to acquire a command of the grammatical structures at each level, we give you a strong foundation of Spanish grammar with written and oral exercises.
