¿When to travel?

It is difficult to decide when is the best time to visit Nicaragua because throughout the year you can do different things and visit different locations, depending on the weather.

In the summer it is quite hot, especially in the Pacific Zone, but it is also dry enough to allow you to see panoramic views and enjoy the environment.  You will encounter the best conditions in the summer.  There are not too many mosquitoes and fewer bugs than there are during the winter.

In the winter, the environment is much fresher and the views more lush.  However, there is much more precipitation in the northern regions of the country than in the Pacific Region and the roads are less accessible due to the rains, which also bring out the insects.

During this time of year, especially in November, it is possible to witness the arrival of the sea turtles, which sometimes come in large numbers to lay their eggs on several beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean Coasts.

         General Considerations:

Rainy Season

Dry Season

Vegetation turns green

Vegetation is more yellow and dry

Rainy Days

Sunny Days

Roads are less accessible

Better Road Conditions

More mosquitoes and other insects

Less mosquitoes and other insects

Fresh climate (from November to January in the Northern and Central Zones)

Very hot (from March-April)

Inundation of sea turtles

No opportunity to see sea turtles
